CHOPIN’ COTTON

I used to help my grandfather chop cotton.  No, we did not actually chop the cotton, but we chopped the weeds around it, it’s called chopin’ cotton.  Anyway, I remember my grandfather givin’ me hell because I just chopped the top of the weeds.  He’d say, “Johnnie, if you don’t get the roots, you’ll be back out her tomorrow chopin’ the same rows.”  So, I learned to be sure and chop with the corner of my hoe, in order to get deep enough to get the roots.  It was one of those “do it right th’ first time” things.  My grandfather was big on that.

Folks, they say that the root of all evil is money.  Yeah, money can be a very evil thing, but it can be a good thing too.  For instance, a fella workin’ two jobs depends on that money to provide a good life for his loved ones.  There’s nothing bad about that.  On the other hand, a guy like George Soros, using money to corrupt the world, well that’s evil.  Of course, it’s Georgie Boy himself that’s evil, not the money he uses.  The money is just a tool.  Yes, even the ol’ boy pullin’ two jobs for his family, just uses the money as just a tool.

In America today, we get all wrapped up in “tools” and fail to see the “roots”.  For instance, a guy pulls out a gun and shoots another fella, the gun is the tool, the guy is the root.  We desperately need to understand the difference, if we are to succeed in getting our country back.  If a person globs down a bunch of sleepin’ pills and kicks off, some folks actually blame the pills, but they’re just the tool.  The person is the root.  And, if we do not have good representatives to vote for, the political party is the tool and the entire election process is the root.

The root!  If the root is bad, then everything, which grows out of it, is bad.  Our representatives today are growing out of bad roots.  Over the years the corrupt among us have slowly rigged our election process to where no good things can be produced from it.  It is a bad root!  We need to take our patriotic hoes and dig the whole thing up.  We then need to seed some good, productive plants with strong roots, which will run deep and will not rot.  We can do this, and should have done it, long ago.

The key ingredients to a “fair” election process is one where every single legitimate, taxpaying citizen should have a right to run for any public office they wish to run for, regardless of income, assets, public standing or profession.  Of course, the one way, we the people, could truly get unbiased representation, would be in the form of a lottery system.  For instance, and I am just brainstorming here, we could do this.  For Congressional representation we could have a very simple application process with NO FEES.  Each candidates name would be put into a drum and then we would draw names, say twenty-five.  These twenty-five would be given three thirty minute spots on local television.  The folks would then vote in a preliminary election and narrow it down to the top five.  By this time, the folks could start donating to the candidate of their choice and the top five would be on their own from there to run normally.

Hey, this was not meant to be carved in stone.  Please don’t hit me with a bunch of “but john’s”.  It is just some ideas to, hopefully, make us think differently.  I am sure that smarter heads than mine can take this and refine it, but the bottom line is that we need more of US, the people, involved in our representation.  Please think on it.  Try to think of the “fairest” way to get representation for US.

RECITATION: "I am very proud, that I pray to and worship our Judea/Christian, God Almighty. I am very proud to be an American, who loves all his family and all his fellow patriots. I will defend the original Constitutional. I will defend the rights and lives of patriots to the best of my ability and, if time and resources permit will even defend other Americans, who may fail to believe as I do, but I will never defend a Muslim, believer of the Quran! They are my ENEMY and I DO NOT recognize their beliefs in Islam to be a RELIGION, and I never will! Remember, be proud of, and promote, your beliefs! Be proud you're an American and promote that with pride! Be proud of your families and your fellow patriots and promote that with pride! And last, take some kind of real action and pray “everyday” for God to lead you correctly! Believe me.....this will lead to success.”” -- JOHN L SULAK ...and there you have some more opinions from me, Th' Dumb Ol' East Texas Boy. Take care out there, okay. IN GOD WE DO TRUST!

  1. It's entirely true that our system of vetting candidates and getting them elected has been corrupted by Super PACS and the money they use. Key Example is Obama, who bemoans them one day, but urges them to back him the next. Soros and these Super PACS need to be "hoed" out. Of course, these Super PACS are not exclusive to the Democratic party, and any others need to be disbanded. If any individual wants to back a candidate, then they can do so, but to have huge corporations donate millions of dollars is just asking for corruption.
