83,000! Yep, that's how many insurance agents are in Texas alone. 83,000 is a huge number! Now, remember, that this is just Texas and this figure doesn't include Home Office Workers (like underwriters, claim handlers, policy service folks, managers, janitors, computer techs, officers, owners, etc.). In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in their 2007 National Report state that just insurance claims and policy processing clerks, sales agents, and underwriters alone number over six hundred and fifty-one thousand folks. 651,000 folks in the ol' USA ! Man that's a lot of folks! And we ain't even started talkin' 'bout the suppliers that service these companies. Oh, and all these folks buy food, clothes, gas, electricity, vacations, and all the other, day to day, things that all of us try to buy. So, do we want this "REVENUE" to go out th' window? POR does! No, I didn't leave out an "O". POR stands for Pelosi, Obama, & Reed! Their National Health Care Program would virtually put all these 651,000 folks on the street or on the government dole.
Yeah Obama is just salivatin'' over National Health Care! I mean, just watch him when he talks about it. He virtually get's gitty, all excited, like a kid in a candy store, with all the money he wants! He's shoutin', Mom? Hey Mom? Can I buy this? And this? Oh, and I just gotta have this! C'mon Mom! And Pelosi is just jumpin' up and down and sayin' sure, go ahead, you're too special to be denied your candy. And Harry is just bobbin' his head up and down in agreement without sayin' too much. They are just one big ol' happy family!
Now while, in my opinion, these three stooges, or just maybe, these three foxes, keep creating these petty diversions, so we won't keep our focus on the "real deal" or maybe the "raw deal". You know the diversion I'm taking about. Limbaugh being the Republican leader, this is all Bush's fault, the Media is causing unrest that isn't real, it's last years business, and on and on. Bottom line? Their "REAL DEAL" is called Nationalizing, which leads to Socialism, which leads to Communism, which will eventually lead to a Dictatorship! And we're gonna hop in our SUV or HYBRID one morning, turn on the radio, but all we hear is government channels, and we'll say, "What's happening here? I'm gonna call my husband, wife, parents, or friend and ask them what's going on." But your cell phone is dead. You go on to work deciding you'll find out something there, but the building is chained shut. You see a government notice telling you where to report. You're lost. You feel your world is collapsing and then, and only then, you say to yourself, "WE COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS! Why didn't we listen?"
I guess what I'm trying to say is this. When the government says we're gonna do this and we're gonna do that, think about how it will effect everyone. Take National Heath Care. The first thing most folks think of is, "Man, I won't have to pay anymore of those outrageous premiums." As you can see, up above, it's not just your premiums that are at stake. It is your country, your freedoms, your safety, and yes, even your good health. You know what other countries are facing. Get on an overseas "blog" and ask them about their health system. The real folks will tell you that it "STINKS", while their governments will tell you that it is wonderful. You know? Kinda like it is here.
If "POR" is so hell bent on putting so many Americans out of work, then why don't they start with government jobs? First, do away with the very "out of date" postal system and "privatize" it. They, just like the auto industry suggestion, should get rid of their pensions or reduce them drastically. Second, do away with the IRS, by implementing a, very, very fair, to all, National Sales Tax. Oh, and renegotiate their pensions and benefits also. Third, make our politicians live off their salary alone, while they are "SERVING" our country! Forth, let us folks be able to see "itemized" expenditures, by the government, at all levels, on a, "day by day" basis. Yeah, I think , just these four items will make a very significant difference in our deficit. Or should I say, "The government's deficit? " 'Cause I sure didn't create it. Did you?
Oh, and, by the way, I've got a great idea on how to lower premiums and keep all those folks above workin'. Really! It's a good 'un, but I'm just an ol' boy on th' street. They don't listen to us...............do they?
Hey, I'm outta wind. Catch ya next time with a few more opinions, just like these, from TH' DUMB OL' EAST TEXAS BOY. Y'all watch yourselves out there now.
And insurance companies is only one small bit. What about printing companies (such as Kinkos and others)for advertising and all of those employees? I'm curious how business is fairing for them as it is. What about the postal services (both government and private), because so much business is done by mail? A lot is at stake with this!
