RETALIATION! POLITICAL TACTICS OR BALONEY?

RETALIATION! Man, that's a twenty-five dollar word, if I ever saw one. Has a lot of power too. Some folks call it, "gettin' even with ya." Others say it's, "pay back." Still others call it, "just plan ol' revenge." Most politicians call it, "the ability to control." Anyway, what ever you want to call it, it is mainly FEAR. Yep, it's the fear to respond appropriately to a given situation or act. It's fear of loosing your job or position. It's fear of what your friends will think. It's the fear of you, or your loved ones, being harmed. For instance, most folks think that the Postal Service is pretty bad, and yet we tolerate it. Why? "Well, they might mess with my mail. Oh dear, I would never, publicly, speak bad about my post office." Fear! The fear of lost mail or mail not delivered, or mis-boxed mail, etc., will keep most folks from speaking out. What happens? The postal employees recognize the fear and the "poor service" wound, is allowed to fester. We know it is way out of date and that private companies could do a lot better, but fear will not allow this. Remember, one man's fear is another man's control. Now what about the IRS? Boy, that's one that folks are scared of. This massive, over staffed, out dated, government debacle has definitely worn out it's welcome. We know that a National Sales Tax or Fair Tax would serve the country better, but keep your mouth shut about it. Shhhhh. Don't let 'em hear ya! And sure, let's cut the employees at GM or Chrysler, but don't you dare cut IRS employees. No sir! The government's wrath shall come upon you! Fear! It's a strong controller alright!

Heck, even most of my friends and relatives, have told me to be very careful about what I put in my writings. "It could come back to haunt you." some said. One even said that I could have a big black Cadillac pull up one night and I'd disappear. I'd be gone and no one would find me! Imagine that? Folks are actually that afraid or should I say, "that well controlled?" Sit Fido. Beg Fido. Roll over Fido. Just like a well trained lil' lap dog, they follow their leader. Right, wrong, or in between, it don't matter. They are happy in their very neat and secure little world. All comfy and cozy! Hey, I keep on sayin' it and maybe it's gettin' old, but the secure lil' bubbles are beginning to burst. Folks are learning the hard way that these DC boys just ain't got their interests at heart. Folks the DC boys ain't listening to you! They are too busy doing ya! They are doing the same thing to you that ol' Barney Madoff did to all those folks, but worse, at least under Madoff the folks volunteered to give him the money.. Let's see Barney Madoff, Barney Frank....you might be careful around Barney's in Washington. Anyway these DC boys are investing (spending) your money (against your will) foolishly! But remember, your too scared to stop them. You are afraid of RETALIATION! Sure you'll gripe to you friends, in private, and tell yourself, "Boy, I'm glad I got that off my chest." You might even tell your spouse, "Honey, did you hear what I told 'em?" And did you change the country? Did you make a difference?

I mean, hey, I ain't no saint either. We all have to do what we think is best for our situation, but dog gone it, our situation is getting bad and it ain't improving. You know, one thing I have learned is that this RETALIATION stuff that the government uses, whether real or imaginary, is a boat load of baloney! Look at all these small "greasy wheels" that the government caters to: PETA, Green Peace, NOW, ACLU, ACCORN, NAACP, Rainbow Coalition, and so on. Folks these organizations ain't that big. In fact, in comparison to many organizations, they are really quite small. Where's the retaliation? Look at who the government is afraid of: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reily, Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingram, Ann Coulter, and so on. Where's the retaliation? And these folks are just individuals. They started out just like you and me, but THEY WERE NOT SCARED! That's the difference. Heck, look at me. I've been writing letters to just about everyone in DC for over ten years. I've been doing this blog since the beginning of this year and guess what? No retaliation. No scolding. Not even a reprimand. Natta. Zip. I'm still cookin' folks. You see, this is a "false fear" that has a lot of you buffalo'd. In fact, if you wanna know the real "scoop" on this stuff, come a little closer 'cause I don't want you to miss this. C'mon, bend down here. Okay, here it is, "The government is more afraid of folks that speak out and stand their ground, then they are of the scaredy cats." Yep, it's the hollerers they are afraid of..........not the whisperers!

Now, here is a letter that I sent to my DC reps and I hope you do the same.

Senator John Cornyn
Constitution Avenue and 2nd Street, NE
Washington, DC 20510-4305

Dear Senator Cornyn,

PLEASE! Do everything within your power to stop President Obama's budget! Tax and Spend at an alarming rate will, finally, bring America to it's knees, it is just not acceptable!

The CBO has stated, in so many words, that the Obama budget would cause over a twenty trillion dollar deficit over the next ten years. I, and most of my friends, agree that this type of RECKLESS leadership is also, unacceptable. Even the CBO called these figures "unsustainable."

Eventually this style of government will cause true United States Citizens to take matters into their own hands. No one wants this, but you can only pull the wool over folks eyes so long, then they will put a stop to it. Do not underestimate Americans! Always remember. The Minority (special interests), like a small squealing pig, is weak, but the Silent Majority is STRONG! And,when pushed too far, will react.

We know the "gimmicks"! A $636 billion income tax increase on individuals and small businesses would discourage entrepreneurship and stifle job creation. The cap-and-trade energy system would raise the costs of electricity, gasoline, and other products to an estimated three grand a year per family!

A tricky maneuver called "Budget Reconciliation," would stifle debate on the President's budget and ram through its controversial policies on energy and nationalized healthcare without any debate, at a time when we need it most. These changes to our economy and society merit time for careful debate and consideration, not only within the halls of Congress but also among Americans, like me.

I urge you to oppose any such anti-democratic maneuver. We cannot continue on our current course of taxing, borrowing, and spending. Let me repeat: WE CANNOT CONTINUE ON THIS CURRENT COURSE OF TAXING, BORROWING, AND SPENDING! Folks no longer believe that it is a GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE! That is a fairy tale. America needs a budget that cuts spending, promotes fiscal responsibility, and encourages economic growth. President Obama's budget advances none of these goals. The government has a choice now. You can do the right thing or Americans will do it for you.

These are my opinions.

Sincerely,

Mr. JOHN L SULAK
CC: Senator Kay Hutchison

Please remember this, if nothing else, if you are worried about loosing your job, your position, your friends, or your house.........DON'T! Worry about your country first. If your country is in order, then all those other things will take care of themselves. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if your country is lost to a different kind of government and/or dictatorship, then all those other things won't amount to a hill of beans!

Once again, I just had to share a few opinions with ya, from me, TH' DUMB OL' EAST TEXAS BOY.

  1. Awesome read! I wrote my representatives as well. This government is so far out of control that "the people" have got to speak up! If the American people don't stop this nonsense now...well I'm afraid to say what the end result could be!
