IT’S ALL IN THE BADGE!

One of them smart-alecky agents from the government’s Drug Enforcement Agency went to a small ranch in West Texas to talk with the owner, a staunch old rancher.  He snapped to the rancher, “I am going to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.”  The old rancher told him, “Well, young man, that’ll be okay with me, but you, might not want to go in that section near the creek, over that way.”  Well, that DEA agent snapped right back, “Look mister!  See this badge?  This badge means that I am allowed to go wherever I wish, on any land!  Anywhere I want no questions asked or answers given! Now sir, have I made myself clear?  Do you understand?"  Well, the ol’ rancher nodded politely and said, “I sure am sorry sonny and I do understand.  You have your job to do and I have mine.  I’ll go ahead and go about my business so you can to.” 

After a little while, the ol’ rancher was interrupted by blood curtlin’ screams.  He looked up from his chores and saw that DEA agent running for his life!  He was being chased by the rancher's big Santa Gertrudis bull and with every step that huge bull was gaining ground on the agent and it seemed pretty likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The agent was clearly terrified.  The rancher quickly threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs, “Hey sonny, your badge, show him your BADGE!"
