STAND! WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN?

"TO STAND FOR SOMETHING", to me, means you are one hundred percent committed. It means under no circumstances will you relinquish that commitment. Yes, it means that you will even die for it. "TO STAND FOR SOMETHING" , is just that
morally strong. I would say that I STAND for my wife. My children. My family. My country. Now think about what you STAND for. Have you got it in your mind? Do you know what is really important to you? Would you die for it? Tough questions, huh? Now, if you are one of those folks that are THAT committed. You should be proud. If you are not one of those folks, then wouldn't you feel, just a little better, if you were close to, one or several, of the ones that are? Be honest with yourself. You know you would. Unless, of course, you just absolutely cannot grasp the idea of someone dying for what they STAND for. If that's the case, then you probably will always be a griper. A bystander. Lost in the shuffle.

You see, folks that STAND for something, are the kinda folks that will always offer a helping hand. They will be there when you need them. They will usually do everything in their power to protect those close to them, even if you don't think alike. You'll see 'em on the highway, after an accident, trying to help some victims. You'll see 'em breakin' up a fight between some bullies and other kids. You'll see 'em let an elderly person go ahead of them at the market. Yeah, they are everywhere. All over the place. You just gotta look a little, or, if you are unfortunate enough to be caught in a bad situation, where you need help, you will usually find one or two, or more.

Now, for the sake of argument, let's say things got REAL bad in our country. Let's say that some of these America Haters started going through neighborhoods, robbing and killing. Let's say that they have outnumbered the police and National Guard five or ten to one. Let's say that the majority of our servicemen were in a war started by the country or countries that support these "USA planted" America Haters. You know, as a diversion to their REAL target. What would you do? How would you protect yourself? Your family? Your country? Yep, you'd be tickled pink that the guys and gals that know how to STAND for something, would be on YOUR street. Yeah, there's probably five or ten on every block in America, and that's a lot of guys and gals folks. So there they are ready to come to your rescue. To reach out with that helping hand. To protect you from th' thugs. And they could too, but guess what? Their guns are empty and maybe you are to blame. You didn't want guns. You didn't like them. They were scary. They hurt folks. Well guess what? Iran, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, and other America Haters weren't listening to you. They were waiting. Waiting for the day that they could finally crush our country and you took our guns away. Of course, this was just for the sake of argument. It had no real meaning. It was ridiculous, wasn't it? Just for laughs.

Okay, now let's get serious! There is a Bill being pushed in 18 states and, of course, Illinois being one of them, that would require all ammunition, to be coded, after June 30, 2009. Pretty fast, huh? You think anyone will be able to read it or study it before a vote? FAMILIAR? Of course, no old ammunition would be legal anymore. As if we didn't have enough disposal problems now, we'd have to get rid of all that ammo. There's more. There will also be a five cents tax on each individual shell. That would amount to, at least, $2.50 a box and ammo is already expensive. But there is more. You will not be able to make your own ammunition anymore. You see, they have tried to take our guns, many times, and failed. Now they are trying to make it just too darn expensive to buy ammunition.

Folks, you need to really think about this! I mean really! Don't just, automatically, say, "I hate guns and I want them gone!" Think before you speak. Think about how the times are changing. Think about those STAND up folks "empty handed" in tough situations. Do you really want to hinder them? Knowing that folks will ALWAYS have guns. Do you really want just the America Haters to have guns and ammo? Or would it be better if the STAND UP guys and gals had some to?
