Ma! Wake on up now! We got some company a comin' up th' road. Who is it Pa? It's that dumb ol' east Texas boy again. "So what you a sellin' today mister?"
"As a man is said to have a right to his property, he may be equally said to have a property in his rights. Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions." --James Madison, National Gazette Essay, March 27, 1792
And Obama, Pelosi, and Reid weren't even alive back then! Well Ol' Harry might have been. I mean, th' ol boy looks that decrepit. Sorry Harry, but you really do. Now imagine what James Madison might say today. It would probably go something like this:
"As a man is said to have no right to his property, he may be equally said to have no property in his rights. Where Obama's excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly privately owned. No American is safe in their rights, their opinions, their person, their faculties, their possessions or their country. This scoundrel and who follow or support, must be stopped." --James Madison, July 18, 2009
Okay, since everyone thinks Ol' Obama is such a "sweet" talker, well let's have some more fun with his own words. Here is a press release from him:
For Immediate Release June 20, 2009
Statement from the President on Iran
The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.
As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.
Martin Luther King once said - "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples’ belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.
And now let's see what it should read:
For Immediate Release July 18, 2009
Statement from the American People
The Federal government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every job and paycheck that is lost. We call on the Federal government to stop all ignorant and unjust actions against us. Our rights to assembly and free speech must be respected! We stand with all who seek to exercise those rights.
As we all believe, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. We will ultimately judge the actions of our own government. If the Federal government seeks the respect of us, it must respect our dignity and govern through consent, not coercion.
Martin Luther King once said - "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." We believe that to be true. And right now, you, Mr. Obama are bearing witness to our belief in that truth, and you will continue to bear witness.
Which one do y'all thinks makes more sense? Or "holds more water"? Yeah, his words fit purdy darn good. I guess th' fella can talk pretty smooth, but th' question is folks.......Can he LISTEN?
……..and there's some more opinions from TH' DUMB OL' EAST TEXAS BOY. Oh, and y'all feel free to go ahead and read betwix th' lines, if you've a mind to. Okay?
